Palhares is a midget, thats why he can make the weight.

I'm excited to see Palhares at this weight. I think it will come down to Palhares' takedown ability vs Pierce's sprawl. I think Pierce keeps this one standing and gets the KO/TKO

Paul Harris must be cutting his steroid intake to make 170.

If he loses to Pierce, he is likely out of the UFC. Do you think Dana will pay him as much as $11K for the fight?

That's probably why he cut the weight, stopping the roids. It was likely an easy make, and if I had to bet, he'll look even softer at the lighter weight.

Paul Harris to the zoo after this one. I hate his borderline retarded actions in the sport. I'm not racist, he is a stupid ape. White people can be zoo animals too. He happens to be a brown stupid ape who cranks past taps and gets hit when looking at refs

Indeed!!! Matches between Hendricks and Koschek were close (split) decisions, which, at that time, could have had a win for pierce!!!

I like both - palhares and pierce!! So good luck to both of them.....!

I said before and I'll say it again, welterweight division is a top bjj guys dream. It's full of wrestlers and just look at Maia and how he's doing so far AND his subs are less violent than Palhares' too.

Palhares can go far at 170 subbing dudes left and right.

Maia is a lot better than Palhares, guys. His striking is better. His wrestling has looked better (despite the muscular differences.) His gas tank is better. He also has a knack for not doing illegal things.

When Maia was at MW, a lot of times he was content striking. When he tried taking a guy down like Sonnen, he got it. When Palhares fights wrestlers like Henderson, he gently lies down on his back in a nap position and invites his opponent to come crawl down on top of him.

Not hating on Palhares, but this is not the best comparison. Anyone at any weight has a chance of getting subbed by either guy on the ground. Maia found success because he's back to using his BJJ and leaving his striking behind. The only thing I'll say they both might have going for them is at WW, their suspect chins are less likely to lose them the fight.
